Washington Post announces another shopping program aimed at veteran staff, other departments

The Washington Post announced on Monday that it was implementing another shopping program, this time aimed at veteran employees and other department employees.

“ Today, we are announcing that the Washington Post offers a voluntary separation program (VSP) to news employees with 10 or more years of service in the publication, as well as to all members of the video department and all members of the copy copying board and the sports copy table, ” wrote the executive editor of Washington Post, Matt Murt, in a staff note obtained by Fox News Digital.

The note stated that the move was part of the “transformation efforts of the Washington Post -on -one news room for remodeling and modernizing the news room for the current environment.”

“Like the rest of our industry, we adapt to changing habits and new technologies that are transforming news experiences. Murray told the staff that the purchase program would conclude at the end of July.

According to a VSP document seen by Fox News Digital, nine months of base remuneration will be delivered to employees for 10-15 years, 12 months of base payment for veterans of 15-20 years, 15 months of base payment for veterans of 20-25 years and 18 months for anyone who has worked for more than 25 years.

All of them will also receive 12 months of payment credit to their Independent Retirement Account (SRA).

A Washington Post staff told Fox News Digital that the new purchase program is “less demanding” than previous purchasing rounds, and adds that copy publishers are “always goals” and that “they are always supplied.”
